Endocrine disrupting chemicals around and inside us: A seminar

Estonian Green Movement invites you to join the discussion and movie night about endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDC).

We look into every day products that contain dangerous substances, how they will end up in our blood stream and therefore are a threat to our health.

Presentations are made by professor Mattias Öberg (Swetox, Sweden), doctor Ülle Jakovlev (Estonian Endocrine Society) and docent Tiia Elvisto (University of Tallinn).

European Commission has not provided clear scientific criteria for endocrine disrupting chemicals that will protect the health of human, animals and the environment from exposure to these chemicals. Although the harmful effect of the endocrine disrupting chemicals will occur with a very small doses. There are at least three dangerous chemicals present in Estonians blood, as came out of a survey carried out by Baltic Environment Forum.

After the seminar we will be watching a Swedish documentary „Underkastelsen“ (Submitted) which opens up a world in our blood stream and how the chemicals will react there. Film is starting at 19:00.

Event is free of charge. We will offer you some cookies and tea. Also you can find some information material.

Seminar and movie night is organised by Estonian Green Movement in cooperation with Tallinn Zoo, Tallinn city council and Pesticide Action Network Europe.
